CAS Creativity, Activity, and Service - part of the IB Core that focuses on global engagement, service, and balance in one's life
DP Diploma Program - a two-year (grades 11-12) program of study composed of the IB Core and six course groups
EA External Assessment - student work completed at the school, but submitted to the IBO for assessing and grading
EE Extended Essay - part of the IB Core that focuses on completing a research paper over the Diploma Program from a subject of the student's choice
HL Higher Level course - a choice, in most courses, to study additional elements of interest, and in more depth
HOA History of the Americas - the HL area of study in the Group 3 History course
IA Internal Assessment - student work completed at the school, assessed and graded by the instructor; samples sent to IBO for further moderation
IBIS International Baccalaureate Information System - an online IBO platform for organizing and submitting student, staff, and school information to IBO
IBO International Baccalaureate Organization - worldwide curriculum and assessment provider
IOC Individual Oral Commentary - an IA in Group 1 and 2 courses that involves exploring a passage of text, and presentation to the instructor/examiner
IOP Individual Oral Presentation - an IA in Group 2 that involves the exploration of texts, and presentation to the instructor/examiner
SL Standard Level - Standard Level course - a choice to study the standard elements of a course while maintaining high expectations and rigor
TOK Theory of Knowledge - part of the IB Core that focuses on the nature of knowledge, and on how we know what we claim to know through reflection
