Welcome from Executive Director

Greetings Cottonwood Classical Community!

Neither honored, enthusiastic, nor resolute is alone sufficient to articulate how I feel about returning to Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School in the role of Executive Director.  The three terms in combination begin to capture it, but I am convinced that no word or combination of words will truly suffice.

In the late summer of 2008, I was fortunate to be a part of bringing to fruition the vision that was the founding charter document of CCPS.  From starting in-service with a discussion of great ideas, to a first day of school with rented chairs and no tables, and countless authentic discussions with students, colleagues, and administration, it was clear that this school would be different in matters of mission and stewardship.

After three years of teaching and leadership work at Cottonwood, I left on a new adventure that brought me to Venezuela, northern California, and most recently, Pennsylvania.  At each stop along the way, I have acquired new skills and engaged with every school constituency group through various leadership lenses. I look forward to returning “home” with these experiences in place, and engaging with current and future members of every constituency group at Cottonwood in the spirit of collaboration and sharing in adequately stewarding the mission of the school.

There will be a lot of listening in the early months of my time at CCPS, and I hope to find myself at the discussion table with you in the midst of it.

Sincerely,

John J Binnert
